Magician Luka and Pilot Luka

Hi Everyone - GDT Debbie here - I've been MIA on a family holiday so am back with not one but TWO cards to show you today - these are the cards I sent off to Irina for CHA. It's been sooo hard to keep these cuties a secret but now we can start showing them to you - woohooo. Meet Pilot Luka - one of La-La Land Crafts latest releases - available HERE in digital form - the rubber is still about 3 weeks away for those you want to know!

What kid hasn't used a cardboard box to play pretend in - although coming from an all girl family the boxes in our house tended to be used to make "shops" or "houses" rather than aeroplanes - LOL. And how fun is it to see Luka's dog Tuffy going along for the ride! I used some Liquid Applique on his fur collar and hat to add some dimension.

And this one is Magician Luka - you gotta love his tight curls. I decided he looked like my kids when they put on a "pretend" show for us - so I created a stage for him - every magician needs a stage, just like my kids did when they hung sheets up over the washing line for their productions!

Paper Pieced Sweetheart

Hi!  This is Sweeheart Marci, from the latest Valentine Collection.  Every time I sit down to color up this adorable Marci I remember my daughters when they were small and wore their hair in pigtails just like this, giggling and making homemade valentines.  I really enjoy these cute Marci stamps and this is definately one of my faves.  I decided to paper piece her dress to match the background paper.  And her buttons are tiny twinkles (small rhinestones).  And then the pink ball-tipped pins kinda resemble the pony holders in her hair and add a fun element to the card.  I always dip the ends of pins in crystal effects and hold it til it dries and creates a protective ball on the ends so nobody gets poked ;)

Wow, where does the time go, it doesn't seem 5 minutes ago we were posting the Monochromatic challenge and speaking of which, thank you to everyone who entered, Gina will be back with her chosen Top 3 and winner so don't forget to pop back.
