Hugs & Smiles,

Christmas Tray

This was quite a project!!  It was almost like designing seven cards at once and they all had to go together :-)  But it's done now and I am pretty happy with it.. It was actually fun to do and I know that I will make this type of trays again for other occasions.

This tray measures 12" x 12" with each opening measuring 4" x 6".  Click on the photos to enlarge to see the details :-)

Did you notice that I made a window for Marcy?  I made it out of Grunge Board - painted with acrylic paints, distressed with Inks and embossed with wood grain embossing folder to give it some texture :-)

I used tons of different products and used a lot of different techniques for this project.  To name a few..

Project Recipe:
7 Gypsies Tray in White
Stamps: La-La Land Crafts - Fancy Marci, Panda and Tuffy (dog) - From Tuffy Set
Winter Scene stamp (in the window) by Stampendous

Icy Santa Marci Sends Her Christmas Wishes!

Hello all, hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Where does the weekend go? It is Monday so I'm back and this week I have a little Icy Santa Marci for you today, she is very cute with her little Panda.

Hope you like her, I've been a little free with the glitter, started putting it everywhere!

Hope you all have a stunning week.

Free Pattern: Kid-Sized Potholder

My #1 got a play kitchen for her birthday.  Her pan set came with a potholder, but she doesn't have the coordination to pinch the square of fabric around the pan.  I barely do!  So I thought she needed a potholder like mine, with a pocket for her hand.

I saved this from my project graveyard (the bag where I put things I've lost interest in or couldn't figure out.) It started out as a burp cloth, when my #2 was on the way.  When I didn't finish it before she was born, it got stashed.  I was looking for this yarn for the potholder, and I realized that what I had already crocheted of the burp cloth was the exact thing I needed.  The body of the pattern is, therefore, Christina Budd's copyrighted burp cloth pattern.

Hi all! This is guest designer Alice. I have two cards to share with you today.

I used the super cute Ice Skating Marci for my first card. Isn't she a cutie? I added Flower Soft to her hat and gloves for some fun texture. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather collection and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I used the beautiful Fancy Marci for my second card. She looks so elegant in her pretty dress! The patterned paper is from BasicGrey's Wisteria collection and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

That's all from me. Hope your Sunday is fabulous! =)

Hello everyone! Lisa stopping by today to share a little something I created featuring our newest Marci! Isn't she adorable, all dressed for a party? Fancy Marci is available for a short time in digi format until the rubber arrives, so if that's your preference, you'd better act quickly! And while you're there, you'll want to snag Formal Luka, too!

I paired Marci with patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy collection by American Crafts. I thought the dresses in the background paper were perfect for a party girl. :)

Have a la la lovely day!

Fancy Marci Celebrates Christmas

Hi everyone - Debbie here. I hope you all managed to grab some gorgeous stamps for yourself in the LLLC sale yesterday - woohooo - who doesn't love a bargain?!?!?!

Last week saw the release of 2 new images from La-La Land Crafts - this is one of them. This is Fancy Marci and she's all dressed up to celebrate Christmas here. She is such a dream to colour up and looks adorable in many different colour combos - I just love her cute little pose.

My DP is from Basic Grey and I cut the poinsettia flowers using a My Time Made Easy template and my craft robo. I downsized the template so didn't use all the layers.

Fancy Marci is available for a limited time only as a digi before she comes out in rubber - check her out HERE.

Onto my post...

After checking out the Cinch at the Scrapbook Show last month, I was in the mood to make albums! LOL I didn't get the Cinch at the show but it did inspire me to create this album!

The album itself didn't take me long to finish but using a single hole puncher to punch these holes was a pain! Now that I've completed this album, I ordered myself a Cinch! LOL I guess I do things in reverse. LOL I haven't tried the Cinch yet but I am sure it's way better than a single hole puncher!

Anyway, I thought it would be a cool idea to have a little book of all my friends' birthdays. These books are handle. I keep books of everything. hehe

This book measures 5 x 8 1/2 inches. I used Marci and Luka images..plus the little adorable panda.

For the cover, I used Marci With Rose.

January: Sweet Dreams Marci
February: Winter Marci
March: Panda
April: Marci With Rose
May: Birthday Marci
June: Star Boy Luka
July: Super Cupcake Marci
August: Marci With Rose
September: Pirate Luka

October: Pumpkin Marci
November: Ice Skating Marci
December: Birthday Marci

So what do you think? Pretty cool, huh? I wasn't thinking so I repeated a couple of Marci's. I had really wanted to use a different image for each month.

Vintage scrapbooking can be fun!

Hey everyone, Jana here! Before I get to my project, I have some exciting news for you all - LaLa Land is having a HUGE sale TOMORROW, the Friday BEFORE Black Friday! So be sure to come back here to the blog, or straight to the LaLa Land Boutique midnight tonight (Pacific Standard Time!) to check it out!

I have to admit, I don't often scrapbook with paper anymore having switched over to digital scrapbooking recently, but when I sat down to work with the newest Marci and Luka images (only available digi right now, but rubber is coming SOON) all I could picture is this photo of my parents taken over 50 years ago when they were in high school and going to a formal dance. Of course, no one can FIND the photo now...but as soon as I do I'll be scanning it in to fit onto this page!

Since I know the photos is black and white, I wanted those to be the primary colors on the page. However, I also know that my mom's dress was blue, so I wanted to add a touch of blue. I thought marina mist would work well. I used some new SU! dsp for the base of the page, then I created my photo layer (the vanilla) with the 2 mats (black and marina mist) and I put those on top of the Marina Mist satin ribbon layered under the lace. I added the satin bow on top (along wtih a little extra narrow vanilla grosgrain) and then added the rhinestone accent as well.

For my stamped images, I printed them on vanilla cs and colored them with my W00, 01, 03, 05 and 07 markers. Then I added just a touch of blue (B93) to both Marci and Luka (see if you can spot his, it's pretty small!) I cut them both out and then created ovals for them using more dsp layered on some Marina Mist cs. Don't Marci and Luka look adorable all dressed up for their prom?

Now, don't forget to come back and check out the SALE tomorrow!! Have a  wonderful Thursday!
