Let's Play

Well everyone is having fun at the CHA and if you want to see some pictures of the La-La Land Crafts booth then pop on over to the La-La Land Crafts Facebook page.

In the meantime here is a little make for Monday using Luka with his Truck which you can get as a digi-stamp or as a rubber stamp.

Have a lovely week.

Free Pattern: Bobblicious Baby Hat

This little bobble-ful hat is newborn sized. The dimensions should be about 12 in. diameter and 6 in. from top to bottom. If you tend to crochet tightly, you may want to use a larger hook from round 4 on.  The pattern for the flower appliques can be found at the bottom of this pattern, and here.

See pattern »

Free Pattern: Bobble Flower Applique

Three of these sweet, puffy flowers were the appliques on my Bobblicious Baby Hat.  For the flower on the far left, I used a 5 mm (H/8) hook, and for the two flowers on the right I used a 4.25mm (G/6) hook.

Be My Valentine

I always have a hard time making masculine cards. They always seem to come out so girly. LOL

This is a simple card but I did have to put my thinking cap on. hehe

I used Amour Luka on this card. He is one of the newest images in La La Land, our latest Valentine's collection. Isn't he darling?? I colored him with Copic. Papers are by Stampin' Up.

I rarely finish the inside of my cards but I did on this one. :) Sentiment is by Hero Arts.

Well, tomorrow I will be at CHA. If you are going to be there as well, please be sure to stop by our booth and say hi! We are going to be at the New Exhibitor Section, Booth #4607. See you all then! Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!

Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice!

Hey everyone, Jana here! Sugar and Spice Marci is just adorable...I think she's my favorite Marci right now! Today I finally put some color on her - and I like it!

I pulled the color from this fun cupcake paper I had in my stash. The layout is this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen Giron...I just added a buttony bow to complete it!

Now, if you're headed to L.A. to CHA, don't forget to swing by booth # 4607 and give a big hi to my peeps down there.

Recent Makes

In the last couple of months, I've made some things from others' patterns that I wanted to show off.  :)

I made two scallop scarves from a Lion Brand pattern, which I looooove. I used the recommended Vanna's Choice.  The scarves turned out so cushy and pretty, and it's a really simple pattern that's easy to follow and pretty fast.  I am definitely going to make more of these.

For myself, I made a hat, since we spent Christmas in the cold Northeast.  I used the Deeply Textured Hat pattern from The Laughing Willow.  I used Full O' Sheep wool, which is kinda itchy, but I love the clean look of the texture.  And it's very warm.  :)  I also made one for my sister, not pictured, but on hers I crab-stitched around the last row, which was a nice finishing touch!

Most recently, I made these Mitten Time mittens from Crochet Soiree for my sister.  (Crochet Soiree link was broken (they took the pattern off the site) so I removed it.  I can't host the pattern on my site, but I can share it with you directly.  If you want it, email me and I will send the PDF to you. allicraftsblog AT gmail DOT com)  My favorite parts of this pattern - though it is worked in rounds, you turn on every round, which creates a more detailed texture than a pattern worked continuously in rounds.  And, of course, the bobbles!  It's hard to find cute crocheted mittens, but I think these hit the mark.  I used an alpaca wool from a LYS near where my parents live.  (They turned out far from perfect!  Not too bad for my first pair, though, and I have no doubt that, if my sister notices, she won't mind!)

Swinging Marci

Hi La-La Friends!  Time is getting really close for CHA!!  I'm more than a li'l bummed that I cannot go, but there are quite a few gals from the La-La DT who will be and are so excited to meet you and show you what's NEW!!  You can read more about it HERE.

For my card today I sat Darling Marci (from the Valentine Collection) on this fancy swing--isn't it just perfect for her?  This was for a Red/Black/White challenge at Scrap-Creations this week.  I had a li'l help with my double bow from the Bow Easy, which was a gift from my friend Helen over at Creative Jeans--thanks again Helen!!  I use it all the time!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Creatively Yours,
Kristine

Sugar n' Spice Marci...Be Mine!!!

Sugar n' Spice Marci  has baked up a little delicious cupcake (I colored with Copics and later sprinkled with glitter to the frosting for some added sparkle) for my card today!  The little polka dot background paper has  a little raised dimension with a glazed look to it, if you were to see this card in real life!  The white eyelet background is from a Silhouette die, and the Be Mine heart and the sweet flower sticker embellie are both from one of K& Company's Valentine's collections!

Sugar n' Spice Marci is another one of La-La Land Crafts newest Valentine's Day release stamps!  You can buy her in digi or rubber now!  Visit the La-La Land Store to get yours today !!  She can be used for Valentine's or any other celebration!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Karen

More Lovin from LaLa Land!

Howdy Lala Landers, Jana here, happy Thursday! I've got another black and white image for you today, this time using the adorable new Amour Luka! Now what woman would love to get this card from her sweetie?? Isn't he adorable with his heart box of chocolates and red rose?

ETA: The markers I used for this one are W000, W1, W3, W5, W7, R37, R39, R59

I used some SU! dsp for this one along with a sentiment from MFT's Clearly Sentimental about Love set. I dressed up the bow with a felt heart (cut with the heart Die-Namics also from MFT) an SU! button and some twine. Adorable, no??

Heading to CHA this winter?? Lucky you!! Be sure to go say hi to Irina and Eric, our lovely leaders here in LaLa Land, and the other LaLa Ladies while you're there. They'll be in the new exhibitor's pavilion booth # 4607. Have a great time, and tell them all hi from me while you're there!

Free Pattern: Washcloth or Dishcloth-Size 3 Thread

My mom goes through more dishcloths and dishtowels than anyone I know!  Because I knew she'd use it so much, I wanted to make her a special one for Christmas.  I'd made a dishcloth with cotton yarn before, but it turned out too clunky for me.  By using two strands of size 3 cotton thread, it worked up just as fast as yarn, but it is much more flexible and absorbent, and it dries quicker than if I'd used cotton yarn.  I definitely won't go back!
