Skeleton Luka BOO!

BOO!!  Nope Luka, you are too CUTE to scare anyone!!  Hehehe ;-)

This is one of the projects for my SEPTEMBER Workshop this coming Sunday!!  To see other projects for this WORKSHOP please click HERE.

SEPTEMBER Workshop is scheduled for:
Sunday, September 25th
10 am to 6 pm
at Scrapbook Island in San Jose, CA

This Workshop is by invitation only.  If you would like to attend but did not receive an Evite invitation from me, please email me at irina_ca@msn.com and I will add you to my email list.

This card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

I sponged clouds using the cloud border from my Buccaneer Card that I made yesterday as a template.  See the texture on the tree?  I didn't do anything special, it is just the texture of the chipboard showing after I added distressed inks to the die cut.  I also distressed May Arts green ribbon by rubbing Vintage Photo ink pad directly onto the ribbon - photos don't do it the justice, it is so shimmery and gorgeous in real life!!

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Skeleton Luka by La-La Land Crafts, Sentiment by Hero Arts
Papers: Bazzill Cardstock
Tools: Scor-Pal, TH Tree and Bat dies, Spellbinders Circle (moon), Martha Stewart Fence and Grass Punches

Other: Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot

Copic Markers:
Skin - E00, E01, E53, E02
Hair -E35, E39, E47
Hat, Shoes and Outfit - T1, T3, T5, T7
Vest - V15, V17, BV08 (now looking at it,  I should've used YG's to make it green)

August Customer Gallery WINNER!!!

This month is almost over and I just realized that we haven't picked the winner from our August Customer Gallery!!  Better late than never, right?

We loved this scrapbook layout entry.  It shows you that our images are for every kind of paper crafts, and not only cardmaking.  Lovely colors in blue and pink with a great sentiment.  Our Marci with Rose looks so pretty on the side of the photo frame.

Congratulations Susan!!  Please email us your address and your stamp choice.

Hugs!!

Tutorial Thursday {Copic Coloring - Dark Skin Tones}

We saw this tutorial from Kathy of Inspired to Stamp awhile back and asked Kathy's permission to share it with all of you.  Thank you SO MUCH Kathy for allowing us to share this with our fans!!

Today I'm using one of the new La La Land Crafts stamps called Marci with Flower, she's cute isn't she!!  :)
Begin by colouring your base layer with E11.  It's OK if it's not totally smooth, there will be plenty blending.
I've assumed the light source is coming from the top right, so I've added E13 a little heavier on the left side.  (I'm showing the colour before blending - once you've added your E13, blend with E11 to smooth it.)
Next, take E15 to deepen the shadows, don't add too much and then blend with E13 and E11.
Next use your E18 to really deepen those shadows and use the lighter colours above to blend.  You don't need a lot of E18, but remember the more contrast, the more interesting your picture will look!  Once again, blend with your lighter colours, E15, E13 and E11.

To cool those deepest shadows down and make them a little deeper, use BV00 (or if you want a lot of contrast, try BV13!).

Finish colouring your image in your favourite colours!!
Copic Colours Used
Skin - E11, E13, E15, E18, BV00
Mouth - E04
Hair - C0, C1, C3, C5, C7
Shirt/Shoes - Y21, Y35, Y38, YR24
Jeans - B91, B93, B95, B97
Flowerpot - E97, E08, E19
Flower - R81, R83, E51, E53, G24, G28, E35, E37
Spade - C0, C1, C3
We hope this tutorial was helpful to you.  We would love to see what you can do too.  Please don't forget to share your creations with us in our Customer Gallery and also on our Facebook Page!!  :-)
